I had an urgent need for a new mouse while traveling. The old mouse (a high-quality gaming mouse) ceased functioning properly. I wanted to get a different Logitech mouse (510), but being overseas at the time, this was the best available option for me. The silent (mouse click) feature was not important to me.Function: The mouse works very well. The clicks are very quiet, as advertised, including the middle button. The feel of the click is slightly less tactile than loud clicky mice. No problem for me, though. Some reviewers have complained that the wheel is noisy - not really. If you scroll very quickly and violently using the wheel, yes, you may get some noise. I can't imagine the environment where this would be a problem - if you're so violent and careless with a mouse, you probably make many other noises as well. Since I don't use a mouse pad, the noisiest part of this mouse is the sound of sliding across a desk or table. Compared to other mice, the noise of sliding on wood or plastic is exactly the same, so that aspect isn't really silent, but if I cared, I would use a mousepad.I'm running an older version of Windows and had no trouble with tracking or other mouse functions. I plugged in the receiver and flicked the switch to turn on the mouse, and it worked immediately - less than 15 seconds with no work whatsoever.Features: Right and left buttons, and center wheel button. One AA battery, included. The wheel has stops or clicks to prevent backscrolling or freewheeling of the scroll wheel. There is no side/sideways clicking for the wheel, and no simple out-of-the-box method for sidescrolling. It's a simple 3-button scrolling mouse. There is indeed a slot for storing the wireless receiver, in the battery compartment.Build/durability: Regarding actual durability, I can't say, since I've only been using it a few days. I wouldn't anticipate any problems. Typical plastic constuction - not overly heavy or solid, but not extremely cheap and light either. The manufacturing tolerances look good - all the seams and joints are straight and smooth. The battery compartment door is a large sliding piece on the bottom - no tabs to push or pull. It's probably not going to break.Aesthetics and ergonomics: It's not a very large mouse. I have a light touch so ergonomics aren't very important to me - i just sort of rest my fingers on the mouse top and gently slide and click. It's basically the same size as an older or slightly larger travel mouse, but with a teardrop shape that gives a little extra height and widt mid-hand.This mouse is exactly as blue as the pictures! The base and the wheel are a bright lego blue (lighter than royal blue, perhaps cobalt), while the mouse top (buttons and the area around the Logitech logo) is slightly darker and metallic. The look is fine - a nice bright and uplifting blue mouse to get you through those blue workdays.Bottom line: Obviously this is an older model by this point and newer tech is going to completely replace it. Still, don't be afraid to get this Logitech m330 silent mouse, especially if it suits your buget and your function requirements.
